Le Minh (b. 1972 in Hanoi) is among the defining figures of a generation bridging classical Western technique and traditional Vietnamese material. For over three decades he has stayed faithful to lacquer and oil, building a language of his own from deep tonal layers that evoke the memory of Hanoi's Old Quarter.
